richard ogden ManagemenT Ltd. (ROM) was founded in August 2000 by Richard Ogden, former Manager of Paul and Linda McCartney, The Motors, Bram Tchaikovsky and The Skids with backing from German Concert Promoters DEAG. In 2002 Richard bought back DEAG's share in the Company.
In its first 5 years, R.O.M. developed a diverse business which included Artist and Producer Management, Music Consultancy and International Artist Representation. During that time R.O.M.'s Management clients included The Bomfunk MCs; Nerina Pallot; Meja; TAT and Producer Hamish Stuart. Consultancy clients included Exile Productions (Van Morrison); Angelo Medina Productions (Ricky Martin); Universal Music International (Sandy & Junior); Decca Records (Hayley Westenra); Sony Music (FIFA World Cup Japan-Korea 2002); Vanessa Mae; David Charvet and Kevin Rowlands (Dexys Midnight Runners).
At the beginning of 2005 R.O.M. partners Richard & Thelma Ogden decided upon a change of emphasis for the Company and started to move away from Artist Management and into Live Music whilst lessening the emphasis on Consultancy. R.O.M. now has a thriving business sourcing and contracting international artists for Promoters and Event Producers in Portugal (Espelho de Cultura); Poland (MJM Music); Russia (EM Concerts & City Concerts) and Brasil (Plan Music, H4 Music and Caco de Telha). From 2005 to the present R.O.M. and its clients have Promoted or Produced shows with Beyonce, James Blunt, Ennio Morricone, Kat DeLuna, Black Rebel MCs, Roger Hodgson, Rod Stewart, David Gilmour, Al di Meola, Blondie, Craig David, Van Morrison, Nina Sky, Roxy Music, Jon Anderson, 50 Cent, Seal, Atomic Kitten (x2) , Avril Lavigne, Bryan Ferry (x2), Shakin’ Stevens, Simple Minds, Lloyd Cole, Violent Femmes, Juanes, Julieta Venegas (x3), Banda Calypso, the debut Polish Tour of Katie Melua and the debut European Tour of Brasilian superstar Ivete Sangalo.
On the Consultancy side R.O.M. continued its relationship with Angelo Medina Productions Mexican band MANA) to which during 2006 were added Caco de Telha Entretenimento (Managers of Ivete Sangalo); another World Cup Music Programme for Sony (Germany 2006) and South American exploitation of David Gilmour’s “Live in Gdansk” DVD (the original Concert was co-produced by ROM); an Album recording project in London with the legendary Russian rock band “Time Machine” and helping Ohanian Management (Managers of Julieta Venegas) with her career in Europe.
In the summer of 2007 another string was added to R.O.M’s violin when Tom Favilla joined the Company, having recently graduated from the University of Brighton with a B.A. in Music and Visual Arts. Since August 1st 2007 Tomaz has been “holding the fort” for R.O.M. in the UK , allowing Directors Richard & Thelma Ogden to relocate to São Paulo , Brasil (see News).
